Hi all. I had to install a new hard drive and then installed windows on it, but after windows was installed I received no audio. I tried to use the driver cd they gave us and it says the drivers are not compattle. Any idea what is going on. I have a dell enspron 1100. I am going to get a hold of dell with my case number and may have to send it back.
Thanks.
Matthew
you might try finding the drivers on the del sight. those should be the most up to date ones.
if not, I have crystal intel audio drivers that I installed when I had to reinstall windows on my dell latitude.
Yeah i have to say that the dell site is quite good for finding drivers.
I just type in model sound drivers or what ever i wanna find, where model is the model of your laptop, don't put it all.
Don't waste time looking for the right part of the dell site for support, the addy is
http://support.dell.com
Btw, i thought the only onbord cards that dell used were soundmax and realtech?
hth, BEN.
Ahh just another idea, even though most xp distroes have the same set of drivers in them, you could try plugging this computer into some kinda connectivitty, ie ethernet or wireless and getting someone to look under the "other devices" bit of device manager, in the hardware tab of my computer propaties.
After I reinstalled xp pro, I installed the Intel Integrated audio drivers and that worked.
Hi I will look there It is just very tough, because the names are verylong so I am bot sure what to look for. I want to be sure they are compattible.
just another reason why dell sucks.
